We can neither subscribe or
UNSUBSCRIBE addresses from this list. You have to
do it yourself. Pleasekeep track of ALL/ANY email addresses you
use to subscribe.
You will need these if you wish to unsubscribe at some point in the
future.
Help us keep this newslist a FREE service. To help keep
costs down and keep
the newslist coming, set your spam and porn filters and box
capacity to
prevent unnecessary bounces. If your filter rejects us or
your box
capacity is too small, emails we send you will be bounced back to
us and you
will be automatically unsubscribed.
1) AOL SUBSCRIBERS
Message from my listserv
manager:
>
> The reason some AOL.com subscribers get unsubscribed and
others don't is that
> the ones who get unsubscribed have clicked the "this is spam"
button while
> reading your Smartmarriages message - it's that simple.
When they do that,
> AOL sends us the message they've reported as spam and their
address, and we're

concerned the person has

2) MAILBOX CAPACITY: BOUNCES
This is a high volume newsletter.
Please don't subscribe unless your email in-box has a
capacity of at least 4 megs.
If your mailbox has less than 4 megs, your emails will
frequently be
bounced back to us and you will automatically be
unsubscribed.
Plus, we've been having trouble getting through to yahoo,
hotmail and msn
addresses. If you use those for email, you might want to
consider switching
to another email service like Google's new FREE Gmail which has
almost unlimited capacity.

Diane,
>> Not
sure what it means when I get an email that tells me I have
excessive
>>
bounces, but when I tried to reestablish on the list by clicking on
the
>>
mailman confirmation link said it was a bad
string.
Mailman automatically sends you a notice about bounces and
unsubscribing you.
It includes a long string and you must copy the whole link in order
to have in the
correct URL. If you just click on the link you might only get part
of it. If the long
string is broken by a return, it won't work.
3) SPAM/PORN FILTER SETTINGS:
We send posts that porn and spam filters will screen and
reject. Examples: an article from the
Washington Post on teen "buddysex", notices about conference
workshops on "Sacred Sex" or
"Internet Porn and Cybersex Affairs", books like "Sex-Starved
Marriage" or "Hot Monogamy",
and anything that's "FREE" - announcements for
free workshops at the Smart Marriages conference or in your
community, etc.
In other words, PORN filters block the discussion of all things
"sex" and a marriage
list is going to include mentions of sex.
SPAM filters block emails that sell whether it's books,
conferences, workshops, etc. Anything offered
"FREE" or as a "great deal" will be blocked as
spam.
SO, to let the mail get through, keep your porn/spam filters,
BUT, set your mailbox filters to
accept anything sent from:
smartmarriages@lists101.his.com
AND anything from the domain name smartmarriages.com.
Go to your junk mail filter and paste these addresses in your
"approved senders" or "white list"
or "safe list".
If your spam/porn filter blocks the smartmarriages newslist,
the mail we send you will bounce
back to us and you will automatically be unsubscribed from the
list after 5 bounces.
> Diane,
> I block EVERYTHING.
> But, I have a "safe list."
> Your newslist and you are on that that list as:
smartmarriages.com

4) AUTO REPLY and "OUT OF OFFICE" SETTINGS:
If you have your email options set to send a reply message to
acknowledge
receipt of all the emails you receive, you will automatically be
unsubscribed from
the smartmarriages newslist. With 10,000+
subscribers we cannot manage the receipt
of these acknowledgements for each post to the list!
Same goes for the "out of office" settings.
If you are unsubscribed while you're away, you can
resubscribe on the website.
You can read anything you've missed on the
ARCHIVE. All past posts are stored there.
